Rolling Stone Magazine described them as "one of the most irrelevant bands we've never heard of... but they look pretty cool". Rock critic Lester Bangs wrote "Their pretentious, ponderous collection of rock covers is enough to prompt the question, 'What day did the Lord create The Beat Daddies, and couldn't he have rested on that day too?'"
The idea of living the road band life was the last thing on our minds. After we did all the local gigs, we realized the only way for us to evolve as a band was to hit the road. Over the next five years, we logged 1 gig on the road — with the occasional festival appearance — in cities across the country. Our time on the road could have proved crucial in shaping our sound, but we only went out on the road once!
The ability for the Beat Daddies to open the show, especially for those bands who may have a much larger following than us, is the life-blood of what we are all about. Look for us out on the road in 2021 and beyond. And let us know if you would be interested in hiring us for your friends. The genre of music that we play spans multiple generations, and we do it all with a spice we call "Buffalo". We'll see you soon!
We’re packing up the gear for an extended Fort Worth tour in support of our hopeful new album - due out in 2022. Our set list will prominently feature the old stuff from as far back as 1996. Check out our tour page for when we’ll be playing near you.
